Representing the important and challenging field of “new chemistry for a sustainable future”, Prof. Raffaella Buonsanti joins the board of SusChem Switzerland. In her role, Raffaella will bring together activities of the Section Chemistry and the Environment, SwissCat and SusChem.
The research of Raffaella Buonsanti’s group at EPFL Valais spans from materials chemistry and nanoscience to catalysis, electrochemistry and sustainability. In particular, they are interested in the synthetic development of well-defined nanocrystals and their use to advance the current knowledge in the electrocatalytic conversion of small molecules (CO2, H2O, N2) into value added chemicals as well as to advance different energy technologies.
Raffaella has won numerous awards including the Werner Price 2020. She serves the international chemistry community in many roles, including as chair-elect of Nanoscience in the Inorganic Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society and as editor in ACS Catalysis.
Her expertise will complete the portfolio of SusChem Switzerland and link new community members to the SCS network.
