Call for innovations for the award “Best CO2 Utilisation” in 2022! What technology or product in the field of CCU did you develop?
The winners of the last innovation award "Best CO2 Utilisation" transformed CO2 into methanol, cleaning agents, plastic packaging or surfactants. What technology or product in the field of CCU have you developed?
nova-Institute and YNCORIS together with CO2 Value Europe are looking forward to your application for the innovation award "Best CO2 Utilisation 2022". The award will be granted at the well-established "Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals", 23–24 March 2022 in Cologne (hybrid event).
Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) is one essential pillar for the supply of renewable carbon besides biomass utilisation and recycling. The transition to direct use of CO2 as an alternative carbon source is needed as a key technology to replace fossil sources, combat climate change and produce and process chemicals in a sustainable and climate-friendly way.
Captured CO2 from the surrounding air and from offgas point sources that can be used for cleaning products, plastic packaging or be converted by microbes into a grid-wide energy storage solution are just three of hundreds of possible options for carbon capture and utilisation (CCU). Based on the Power-to-X concept, e.g., large quantities of kerosene, fuels and platform chemicals can be produced from CO2. Further, specialties such as proteins and cosmetic ingredients made from CO2 are on their way. The portfolio of potential products from CO2 and renewable energies instead of fossil resources is nearly infinite.
The technologies and ideas are ready to end the fossil carbon era and move towards a carbon neutral future. Only a few policy decisions and financial support would be needed to build the CCU industry of tomorrow.
We want to honour the young and innovation-driven CCU industry for their inventions and developments with the innovation award "Best CO2Utilisation 2022"
With the innovation award "Best CO2 Utilisation 2022" together with YNCORIS and CO2 Value Europe, the nova-Institute offers innovators in the CCU field the unique opportunity to present and market their carbon capture or carbon utilisation (Power-to-X) technology, CO2-based fuel or chemical at one of the leading conferences on CO2 as a raw material. The only requirement for participation in the competition is that your product is already on the market or about to be launched in near future.
Producers and inventors are invited to hand over their free of charge application by mid of January 2022. Further information can be found here: www.co2-chemistry.eu/award-application.
An independent jury of experts will pre-select the “Top 6” candidates from all applications. The nominees will receive a free 2-day ticket for the conference. In a ten-minute presentation, the candidates present their innovations to the audience. After the presentations, the conference audience (online and on-site) will select the three winners. They will be honoured with the innovation award "Best CO2 Utilisation 2022" at the festive gala dinner ceremony on the first day of the conference.
As a follow-up to the conference, nova-Institute and CO2 Value Europe will issue an international press release and use their wide-ranging communication channels to announce the winners. Additionally, the first place will receive communication support from CO2 Value Europe to promote their technology or product, according to their business development needs.
Seize the opportunity and apply now: www.co2-chemistry.eu/award-application.
nova-Institute would like to thank YNCORIS for sponsoring the innovation award "Best CO2 utilisation 2022" and CO2 Value Europe for the co-organisation.
